During the CNG Focus Group Education Day held at LDG this spring Stephe Yborra, from NGVAmerica and the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation, an expert and advocate for Compressed Natural Gas and Natural Gas Vehicles kept repeating something during his presentation that has resonated in my mind during some recent events here at LDG: Stephe kept stressing that a “perfect storm” was brewing in PA for CNG considering the abundant natural gas supplies (e.g., the Marcellus Shale play), the high, rising, and unstable price of foreign oil, and the growing availability of factory-built vehicles from major truck, bus and shuttle OEMs.
Recently this surfaced in my mind when the Marketing Department here at LDG was awarded with 2 prestigious awards for target marketing. One came from Zweig White and another from SMPS. Both were for a brochure that was developed to present our firm and service offerings to potential clients in the natural gas industry. You can learn more about the development of this piece in one of my previous blog posts.
In reflecting on these awards I recalled Stephe’s comments about a “perfect storm” and thought about how relevant this idea was to our recent recognition. Although this award winning brochure was heavily determined by marketing and graphic design, it never would have happened without an immense number of other pieces falling into place including the discovery and technological developments leading up to the Marcellus Shale play, the experience and natural gas service offerings the LDG Energy Group has developed since its early involvement in 2008, and the core values of teamwork, respect and quality that are exemplified by LDG’s employee-owners. It’s these core values and the people standing behind them make me look forward to the storms to come.
